1. Reputation management, CSR and transparency in Communication/PR

Everyday we see important developments in our society, also in the world of communication. Transparent communication more and more becomes a critical factor for success. A good image is not enough anymore, we need a good reputation. Both inside the company and in the society. Many companies have Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects to build up a civil society. In this course we will pay attention to all these developments, not only in theory, but also in case studies.

2. Cross-cultural communication

Have you also experienced that we have started to work more en more cross-cultural in our company or organization? Italians, Romanians, Germans, Hungarians, Serbians, they work together in teams within the same company. This is a new challenge with many pitfalls. Everybody has his culture, with his own traditions and work styles. We do not always understand each other, or there are misunderstandings about our opinions. In this course we will give you an introduction in cross-cultural communication. We will also train you in how to understand each other and how to co-operate.

In this course we will pay attention to change management, change communication and the role of communication/PR in change processes. 4. Pro-active and interactive communication in your company

What to do when people complain about everything? What to do when they are always critical? Interactive and pro-active communication can be an important solution. Our focus should not be on defending our position, but on building bridges between people. This new approach, developed in Western Europe, is a powerful instrument for effective communication. We will pay special attention to dialogue techniques.

5. Media training

When a journalist phones your company – are you happy because of the ‘free publicity’? Often you are not. You are afraid that they might publish negative things about you, that they will only write about sensation and scandals. Therefore you choose a defending strategy.

In this course we will show you that another approach is much more effective. We will train you in dealing with the critical media in a positive way and in finding a way to use free publicity for your company. Next to that we will practice how to deal with a press conference.

6. Writing effective PR texts

Text writing is an important part of the communication/PR skills. In this course you will practice in writing different kinds of texts: press releases, brochures, advertorials and direct-mail-letters. But writing alone, is not enough. It is very important to have a good strategy. Therefore we will develop the concept of ‘integrated communication’.

7. Journalistic writing

Perhaps you are interested in being a journalist? Or maybe you, as a communication/PR specialist, want to experience what a journalist does? Or do you want to write a journalistic article for the newspaper or a magazine to promote your products or services? In these situations this will be a good course for you. We will discuss different kinds of journalistic texts: reports, newspaper articles, magazine articles, interviews, opinion articles etc. Of course we will put this to practice as well; you will write several articles yourself.

8. Effective presentation skills

Do you give speeches, present your company, sell products or services to a group? Then you may need some extra skills to improve your presentation techniques. This course will be very practical: you will prepare some professional presentations of which we will discuss all the important aspects. This course will give you more self confidence.
